Hi to all.
I am beginning a new challenge, taking both knights from the engines (I play black).
Opponents: Crafty, Komodo, Lc0 and Stockfish.
Default settings, except for the following.
All engines: ponder on.
Crafty: resign = 327.67 (it still resigned).
Komodo: contempt = 150
I will play until I win against each engine.
I have just played the first game against Crafty.
A win for me.
I still do not find a way to prevent Crafty from resigning (not even with 327.67, I am somewhat afraid to increase it even more, it might roll over to negative numbers).
I used Crafty under Xboard a long time ago (more than 20 years, perhaps closer to 25 years), and I remember it was possible to disable resignations.
Now, about the game. I just had to play with care.
I must admit that I missed 25. e4, but fortunately for me there were not really bad consequences from this oversight.

Re: Two-knight odds match: human vs engines.
Why you continue playing with either 2 knights or 2 Bishops odds? You already proved that you can beat Komodo 12.1 with a Rook Odds which is more harder than beating Komodo 12.1 with 2 Bishops or 2 Knights. Your next logical challenge should have been to try to beat Komodo 12.1 with a Knight + pawn removed OR with a Bishop + pawn removedpepechuy wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 2:18 am Hi to all.

Re: Two-knight odds match: human vs engines.
Hi.
Now, the game against Komodo.
A draw.
Somehow, I lost a rook for a pawn... during the game I did not know where I went wrong, I simply miscounted.
Still, Komodo gives me a large advantage after that... I thought the game was even.
Fortunately, my remaining pieces were already well posted, and it was enough for a draw.
Oh, I updated Banksia, Komodo and Stockfish.

Why you continue playing with either 2 knights or 2 Bishops odds? You already proved that you can beat Komodo 12.1 with a Rook Odds which is more harder than beating Komodo 12.1 with 2 Bishops or 2 Knights. Your next logical challenge should have been to try to beat Komodo 12.1 with a Knight + pawn removed OR with a Bishop + pawn removed![]()
¿Why? Because I have already begun. I do not want to interrupt the challenge.

Re: Two-knight odds match: human vs engines.
When you already beat Komodo 12.1 with a Rook Odds = 5 Points, and switching to 2 Bishops , 2 Knights or a Bishop Plus a Knight which all add up to = 6 points, it is NO longer consider a challenge, since you went from 5 points Odds to 6 Points Odds. You are simply wasting space on this forum, and I am the only one who has the cojones to tell you, your match is no longer interesting. Perdimos interés cuando redujiste de 5 puntos a 6 puntos . We lost interest when you reduced from 5 points to 6 points. If you want to keep it interesting go from 5 points to 4 points, from a Rook Odds to a Knight plus pawn or Bishop plus pawn oddspepechuy wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 3:36 amHi.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 4:23 am

Hi.
Now, the game against Lc0. A win for me.
I took a couple of minutes to play 8... Ng4 (instead of mechanically finishing development with 8... Bd7).
I like the move I made: it allows me to uncrumple my position without creating weaknesses.

I will reboot the rook-odds challenge, but only against Komodo and Stockfish, after I finish this two-knight odds challenge.

Hi.
Now, the first game against Stockfish.
A loss for me.
I still do now understand well how I lost.
I felt that I had a good position, even under the pawn storm.
I thought that, if my pieces were well placed in the center, I would be able to reject the attack.
The only thing that worried me was that my rook in a8 was inactive (actually, I did not move the whole game).
Now I see that 22... Nf6 was a blunder. I need to analyze this position.

Greetings.

Re: Two-knight odds match: human vs engines.
Hi.
Now, the second game against Komodo.
A win for me, but a difficult one.
I like my moves 15... e6 and 16... f6, playing without fear against white's pawn avalanche.
I missed 20. Re6, but fortunately I did not lose much material: I was "only" a rook up after that.
The game remained quite complicated. I also like my move 21... Ne5.
I was somewhat worried that Komodo would play 29. Re5 (also Re5 in the next few moves).
I guess it is not very good, since Komodo did not play it.
31... e4 was a good liberating move for me, I began to feel confident about the win after it.
All in all, I think I played well under pressure, in a complex position, and kept the advantage till the end.
