On behalve of the ICGA, the following message:
The International Computer Games Association (ICGA) has had its chess events on hold during the pandemic. However, since the world seems to be returning to normal, we would like to renew our annual World Computer Chess Championship (first started in 1974!). The plan is to hold it at the IJCAI Conference (the premier international AI conference) in Vienna, July 23-29.
We are looking for expressions of interest in participating (no commitments yet). We are trying to gauge the computer chess community's interest in resuming face-to-face competitions. Some people are excited by the prospect of travelling again; others are reluctant at this time.
Please let me know if you would possibly be interested in participating in the World Computer Chess Championship.
Thank you.
Please contact Jonathan Schaeffer (see https://icga.org/?page_id=1023) or me if you are thinking about participating.
