I wrote often ... _we_ have!???
Again, that isn't my project ... mistake by myself.
I am helper only.
What is mine = 0%
What is from Alex = 100%
And Wasp is from John = 100%
Not to compare with my work I do with Martin in the past (Arena Chess GUI).
But it should be clear that I like to have that in 100% perfection.
My main interest, I have no other interest on it!
So, I can give the programmer hints and my knowledge and every time my helps if Alex need that.
I wrote that as reason for the third mail I got.
I am not the project manager.
Gave Alex the suggestion to start such a project.
For around 4 years I do that because I am very sure that Alex can do it.
Can nothing say to prices ...
All what I know is that at the moment hardware is a problem / different things from China ...
All what I know is that Alex produced each module from hand is selfwork ... perhaps later with helpers, I don't know.

Re: Piphisto Project
Puh ...
To the forth mail ...
Yes, the programmings are complete new and from Alex.
The communication between the older Mephisto boards and the module was a lot of work and very tricky.
I believe Alex need more as one year or longer for it in freetime he had.

Re: Piphisto Project
Fifth mail ... four from the same person!
1. Why the older programs from chess-computer should be inside?
We have the work from Franz Huber, we have that in other projects around chess-computers.
Much more interesting is ...
If the current programmers offer a rasp version.
With nice features for engine lovers.
Again and again ... this is much more interesting as Elo only.
With 2Ghz the next Wasp version will have around ~ 2800 Elo on such a system.
Only Carlsen can beat that.
And if for an example the programmer of rofChade or Revenge offer a version = 2950 Elo.
Stockfish 3050 Elo or a bit more.
2. Chess-Server
It should be clear that such things are possible.
Available or not ... clear, the decision from Alex.
Chess server are not interesting for me.
Not a topic I like or I switched information with him.
Enough ... please add your questions in TalkChess.
More interesting for me, so others can read it also.
Best
Frank
PS: My bad english never was a problem for me, for the others only.
But I am sure that 95% understand my Frankish.

Re: Piphisto Project
Ah I forgot ...
Yes, syzygy are working ... up-to 5-pieces for the moment.
Yes, if engines support neural network (embedded or not) it will be work fine.

Re: Piphisto Project
Got a longer mail from him ...
Read that again, sorry I believe I forget one point.
Communication to other GUIs ...
This system have an own webclient / really a very nice software.
What you see on the pics I added are closed menue points.
Only to engines I made it open a bit.
In my opinion no communication to an other software needed.
EPD, PGN all is inside.
Later you can use GUIs for the databases produced with PiPhisto.
My opinion!
I don't know the opinion by Alex about it.
But what I should do with an other GUI with PiPhisto system?
The complete systems is from one person.
Main engine is from John Stanback.
Allways better if not to many people are inside in such a project.
And yes, it is full of own ideas Alex had during the development.
100% handwriting from him.
I am really enthusiastic since all the years he is working on it.
I missed nothing but different things are not complete ready.

Re: Piphisto Project
I don't know why I completely missed page 2 anyway it looks very good.
With this project there are now three similar diy modules that use the old Mephisto boards. The two that are presently available are around the £150 price range but I still enjoy my Mephisto module board with the original Ulf Rathsman's MMII program.

Re: Piphisto Project
Yes, all looks very professional for me around the PiPhisto project.
Alpha testing can start in around 2-3 weeks, the programmer is in holiday.
At the moment I start working a new site around Wasp engine.
If ready, I will collect such information about chess computer projects in a special selection.
So many ideas and material I have for a special site around Wasp.
Since years on my ToDo list and now I have the time for it.
MM II is interesting ...
With 100Mhz and HG240 over 2000 Elo.
The same problem ... the chip you need is very expensive, comes from China.
Honestly:
I like all of the older chess computers but MM II is in the first gaming phase very special and interesting!
I like it more as the others modules.
I have here MM IIa and looking for the orginal HG240.
