Is this updated version free for existing users, those who payed for DS13? If so, how to obtain it?

SMK does not make free updates. He is a businessman, which means you will likely have to pay for new version once it is released.

Hi,

Stefan should delete the feature "Online Update".
After I remember never an online update was available for Shredder GUI in around 20 years.

That's what I dislike.
If customers will get no support with online updates it should be clear before.

Best

Everything you listed is dogcrap. What's more to say here?
Can you explain your hostility? The link you posted to justify your opinion shows that Shredder has a rating of over 3200, which I believe means that it can beat all but a handful of humans consistently, which in turn means that it is perfectly suitable for the average player to use as an opponent or coach. The handful of exceptions are no doubt inundated with free evaluation copies of every product imaginable, so I doubt very much that anyone who buys it will be disappointed at its playing strength, especially since anyone so obsessed with having the absolute strongest program is no doubt aware that Stockfish is free. I don't see how that translates to it being "dogcrap," so "what's more to say here" is why you are so upset about the review.

I am a rank amateur and am looking for a good chess program. I found the review very helpful regarding the features of the program. Yes, it was very enthusiastic, but did he lie about what it could do, or how stable it is? I found another review by the same person on Fritz, and he seemed very upfront about its shortcomings, so he doesn't seem to be a shill for Chessbase products in general.

The review did not persuade me to buy Shredder, first because I hear a new version is coming out soon, and second because I think it is overpriced at over $100, when there are so many free programs available. But I found it very useful, and would honestly like to know what was so bad about it.
