Rather disgustingly drafted complaint, and no realistic chance Niemann can win this.

Well Fellow Citizens.....Heres My Take On This Mess..This Chess Crisis.......Whatever you want to Call It!! :)
In Early September I happened to Tune Into The Sinquefield Cup chess tournament & while reading the Chat Someone mentioned that "Hans Niemann" was entered....I replied....."Hans Who?" I know most of the top players including most of the Indian & Uzbeck players etc...But I actually had NO IDEA who the guy was and HOW he got a INVITATION to such an event! (Later on I found out Rapport & Shankland & I suppose Robson) dropped out and He got an extremely LATE invite...Checked his rating and he was around 2654 or something like that...A bit low for such an event (2700+) but whatever...This Young Man was "WHOLLY UNKNOWN" is the USA & Around The Globe....Now Cut To This Morning And this Filed A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR SUIT...And I would Venture That When This Dust Clears If He Isn't Already (Based on The Social Media Chatter) That 'MR HANS NIEMANN' will be the most famous and recognized Person In the History Of The Royal Game Of Chess & If by some Chance he Wins This Lawsuit....Hans Niemann will Be the "Richest Chessplayer In Chess History"...I do expect many of the "Chess Expert Statistical Mathmaticians" To Recieve a "Court Summons" To Testify along with Hikaru....Magnus....Chess.com....USChess..
FIDE...and others....et al. Heck... Even Kasparov and Caruana might get a call along with Dlugy &Chessbrah!! "Get A Lot Of POPCORN READY FOLKS!!"...... 8-)

He also shattered Carlsen’s historic 53-game unbeaten streak and made it practically impossible for Carlsen to ever achieve a 2900 FIDE performance rating.
1. Carlsen achieved a 125-game unbeaten streak before, so what are they talking about.
2. You don't "shatter" a 53-game unbeaten streak mearely by ending it. To shatter it, you need to achieve a (much) long streak yourself (and then the record 125-game unbeaten streak is the one to beat).
3. One loss obviously does not make it practically impossible to ever achieve a 2900 rating.
4. Just dumb, dumb and dumb. And most of the rest is the same.

I do not see the source of your 2654 of hans
You mention early september and I find that hans had a fide rating of 2688 in 1.7.2022 and 2687 in 1.8.2022

https://ratings.fide.com/profile/2093596/top

I disagree that hans was "WHOLLY UNKNOWN"
Of course he was less famous relative to carlsen and some top indian chess players but
many chess fans(including me) knew about him earlier than spetember.

It started when Carlsen later implicitly stated "He has cheated, and cheated more" or something along the line.

He should have simply left it with the cryptic tweet alone and went the Vasik Rajilich- mode of keeping quiet the entire time. That cryptic tweet itself exploded throughout the media far more than his later accusation. Niemann wouldn't have any chance to do anything with just that tweet about some random footballer.

Hi.

He appeared on the cover of New in Chess 2022/4.
I admit I had not heard of him before that, and was surprised to see him on the cover as "unreservedly ambitious and fast rising".
I was also surprised to find out that he was 18 years old (he looks much older on the picture, like 28). Oh, he has turned 19 in the meantime.

Greetings.

Nakamura: not guilty
If you’ve even sampled his stream, the shear quantity of his gossiping puts him at risk. He’s not a smart man and has been very careless in his statements.
Actually, I thought about this more while running over to the local Publix.

Nakamura - distances himself from chess.com...on a recent podcast he actually says (I forget the wording) chess.com is to blame for things.

Chess.com - distances itself from Magnus for any OTB 'cheating' talk...gone of of their way to do so really. They have done a really good job of dotting their 'i's' and crossing their 't's. An interesting thought: DID Hans actually go to that website and claim the $5,000 (I think that's it) for the online tourney he was kicked out of? If so...a jury might tie it to an 'okay, I cheated...thanks for the cash'. If he did not...that might favor Hans.

Magnus - can distance himself from no one. He is the one therefore that stands to lose the most. Would the Keymer match have continued had Magnus not made such a stink? Probably. Are other...or future tournament not likely to invite Hans if they want to attract Magnus...very possibly and tournaments/matches are how aspiring chess professionals make their money.

So, you are right , Naka has played fast and lose with all the 'data' from the significance mongers trying 2 and 2 together to try to get 5, when it may just be 4. I haven't listened to every word of his, but has he actually said "Yes, I think Hans has cheated OTB"? How different that might be from a "I think he may have" vs as "He has" for a jury...I don't know.

Further, I wonder if chess.com needs to 'opt out' of the Play Magnus Group deal...further distancing itself?

Anyway, all likely to be settled out of cour5...with Magnus paying the most and playing a few more years than he wants to pay off his transgressions.
Very good analysis imo. I agree pretty much 100%.

I also happen to believe that Magnus deserves it.

The way the "elite" players bullied Hans recently and spread rumors and made it a huge issue - they all deserve consequences.

"He cheated online, so must be cheating otb" is not enough.

If people believe it is, then "innocent until proven guilty" is a lost ideal.

Even Wesley So had ICC accounts banned for "cheating" back when he was a Filipino kid genius and not a big "American" star.

Tons of GMs from the ICC days to now have, but I have yet to see them attacked in this way without *physical* proof.

The whole Magnus-worshipping establishment needs to put up or shut up.

If they can't prove he cheated OTB then we all need to celebrate the guy as one of the fastest-improving juniors in history.

Kudos to him and his weird personality imo.

Did Magnus somewhere say, that Niemann definitely cheated OTB? Talking about his "impression" isn't defamation but his freedom of expression as I understand it. But in the U.S. system of justice everything is possible I guess...

If that is not very clear or more direct, then I don't know what is.
