Yet I don't think 22 from starting positions the correct DTM, could be but then wouldn't be easy to be proven at least. Backward with SlowChess gets stuck and DTM rises again already after alternatives to Black's 12th.
Pity often enough output- lines out of stand-alone pondering started with empty hash includes both in one line, detours and shortcuts from one and the other one side compensating each other partly. Would guess something about 25 would be DTM with best moves from both sides. If I'll find the time to try with Chest, Huntsman or SlowChess some longer, I'll return to it, but I fear it's too big a search tree to be sure.
Edit have this one output after Backward with SF11 in the meantime,

Problem is first move of Black's, two many alternatives to be forwarded on their own to keep DTM backwards in hash to them.peter wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 8:13 pm (seventh, step - to,heaven, 2013 CCC, CSS)

1...Rh7 (?!) and 1...Qc8 (?!) is some shorter then 1...Kd4, but 1...Rf8 might be about the same as for shortest mate.

Still I think DTM 25 (or less) to be possible yet too, but I don't think, even if there could be shorter lines found, any of them could be kept in hash backwards to very starting position, at least not with my hardware and not with Chest nor Gustav neither as far as I've seen so far, regards
Peter.
