Re: Banksia GUI released
Thank you all for the feedback/bug reports!
I find out that sometimes new binaries of BSG (compiled with the new development system Qt 6) crash when starting because of loading layout data. Since that problem is caused by the library, I can't fix it completely right now. Instead, I re-compiled and uploaded all binaries (except one for Apple Silicon) with the previous version of the development system (Qt 5). Please re-download them.
For Apple Silicon users: the binary in the native Apple Silicon must use the new development system (Qt 6). You may continue using it. If the app crashes, try to remove the file banksialayout.dat in the configuration folder then restart the app. Another solution: you may use the binary for macOS (Intel code) instead.

Upon downloading Apple Silicon into MacOS I only see a 145MB application file, no folders. It crashes without opening.phhnguyen wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 11:52 pm Thank you all for the feedback/bug reports!

Re: Banksia GUI released 1. error
I installed version ver 0.56 beta (World Cup) on my Windows 10 computer and put the GUI icon on the desktop. When I double-click on the icon, the window opens briefly and closes immediately. I have also installed the versions 0.53b and 0.55. These versions open correctly. And now the strange behavior: if I start one of the two versions and close it, then the 0.56 version also starts.

Re: Banksia GUI released 2. error
After starting the GUI and an installed chess engine, the engine analyzes from the initial position with the black pieces, although white is on the move.

I just guessed it run analysis on the fly with "check threat". That mode will analyze on the opposite side for checking threats.
Can you verify?

Thank you all for the feedback, and reports!
I have just updated new binaries (version C) for fixing some known bugs and a workaround for fixing the library-issue with Apple Silicon binary.
Please re-download and help us with testing.
