Abbess new release

Post by Robert Pope »

You can download the newest version of my engine Abbess here https://sites.google.com/site/abbesschess.

I started a rewrite about 3 years ago to try and create a cleaner version with lots of breaks in the process. I think I've finally gotten to a point where it is maybe 200 elo stronger than Abbess 2018, so I decided to release it now before I have to take another big break.

If there are issues with the link or the executable, please let me know.

Thanks for the new version, Robert. A question: how do you set hash size? With Beaches there used to be a beaches.rc with a corresponding line, is that the same for Abbess?

In the middle of a tournament Windows Defender deleted the program, allegedly because of a Trojan. I enabled the Trojan but I am not feeling very secure.

Try the new download and see how it goes.
I'm about to try it.

I can download it, but Windows Defender then deletes it.

I cannot even download it now.

I had zero problems with it a few dasy ago with this binary signature:

Code: Select all

   Datei: Abbess_2022.exe
     MD5: 23401bfc50626e8f4ab2a7142d31331f
   SHA-1: 2202ed0e400770f4ec0502c5e263429f3bff9e14
 SHA-256: 549a4b0b49f6aefd611fd07f40c8e17eb96f4c29a4d71eecfdaeaf5e98302fa6
But I remember, I had to create a download folder on my own server for a few programs, which
always were marked (false!) positives by google drive and the process to get ridd off this would
have been too annoying and time consuming, thus I decided for migrating those.
