How do we post FEN positions so as to see the diagram?

It used to be [d] or something like that? Or did that change when they enhanced the forum?

Hi Lonnie

It is a problem with Google Chrome. It redirects you to https:// version of Talkchess but that has a problem with diagrams. It is intended that Talkchess uses http:// for technical reasons (You would have to ask HGM or Srdja), but with Chrome you can't do that. Firefox is an option. I did read something rather quickly about some security feature in Chrome that prevents this. So I can still post it like this but to see the diagram I would need Firefox to view it?

Hi Lonnie,

Yes, that seems to be the only way, but most other browsers will probably do, also Edge that is based on the same codebase as Chrome. Or for instance https would have to be disabled entirely (by Quentin I suppose), but that seems a bit of overkill right now?

I tried Firefox and that did not work either. Best to go the PGN route, I guess.

Hi Lonnie,

Maybe you did not post the FEN with the 'newer' method? Paste the FEN, highlight it and then press the fen button. Or simply enclose the FEN with the two needed bracketed fen tags {fen}{/fen} (here changed to {} because otherwise it is turned into a d).

Should work with FF but check you are on the http:// version.

That works - highlight FEN and then hit fen button and be on unsecured site, thx
