Time to immigrate to another forum?
With all the current troubles through the years isn't it wise to move to another forum? If you think the answer is yes please provide a number of running candidates. We can keep Talkchess as a reference for the old postings.

What would other forums offer, that Talkchess doesn't?

Stability.
Besides of that some modern features would be nice, youtube support, likes, reputation points.

The verification step is a hassle, but I never had problems accessing the forum.
The social media aspect of forums mostly eludes me. Video support (not just YouTube) would be nice, though.

I have no problems in forum use. But no top expert post here anymore! They only post to Stockfish or Lc0 discord .

...I can imagine that there is currently in general a computer chess stagnation, we had the Lc0 then NNUE then Corona boom, some people have nowadays for sure other things to do than to tinker with chess, busy with real life, or alike, on CPW for example is also little throughput these days.

There were times when I had problems to access the forum after verification.Ozymandias wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 4:53 pm The verification step is a hassle, but I never had problems accessing the forum.

It might be browser dependent. Firefox works worst, IE is ok, Edge works best for me.

There are more new chess engines being developed now than ever before.smatovic wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 7:04 pm ...I can imagine that there is currently in general a computer chess stagnation, we had the Lc0 then NNUE then Corona boom, some people have nowadays for sure other things to do than to tinker with chess, busy with real life, or alike, on CPW for example is also little throughput these days.
