This post should be in the EO subforum.
I think people are taking this whole 'plagiarised thing' too seriously. Chess is just a game after all but some people are taking it way too seriously.

Personally I would like there to be a Houdini 7 and even a Houdini 8 and I believe that if Houdini 7 will play very strong chess and is a much bigger improvement in playing strength over Houdini 6 then many people will want it, regardless if it's a Stockfish clone or not.
What a shockingly ignorant take. Houdart exploited the hard work of the Stockfish developers by illegally selling a modified version of Stockfish without any indication that what was being sold was derived from Stockfish and without providing the source code to customers.

"I don't care if it's illegal so long as I get a new chess engine to play with"
Seriously?

I can NOT copy the exe file into my hard Drive to test it against Dreamer.exe ? I believe that a match of 100 games against Dreamer will give us a good estimate

found two newer available versions ...

1. Fire 05192023
work by Norman Schmidt (BEL)
https://github.com/FireFather/fire/ ... without NN
https://github.com/FireFather/fire-NN/ ... with NN
https://chesslogik.wixsite.com/fire/download ... website with older versions
https://github.com/FireFather?tab=repositories ... a lot of material!

2. Drofa 4.0.0
work by Alexander Litov & Rhys Rustad-Elliott (RUS, CAN)
https://github.com/justNo4b/Drofa

Have a nice day!

Best
Frank

Homura (New) 230517 by Ellie Moore (USA).
https://github.com/RedBedHed/Homura
https://talkchess.com/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=82049

A few days ago I made two binaries available for the new engine Homura.
I got some feed back from Carlos that none of them worked on his machine
and gave some strange error message.
After some retesting I found the reason. It needs a certain txt file from the src directory,
which I have now included in the download from rwbc. (ospec.txt)

Ofc I also filed an issue at github.
