Nostalgia: I'm looking for Patzer 3.61 and/or Arthur engines

Hey guys,

You know those times when you read some old posts about Gromit, or Phalanx or something, and you miss the old days?

Well, I'm experiencing one of those times.

I know Frank shared (with permission) Patzer v3.61 here a couple years ago, does anyone still have it?

Also looking for Arthur, a nice positional program for the times.

I got these versions from an old Arena setup package (version 1.1 setup 4).

Hi Brendan,

Patzer's pawn like to find the 9 row and the engine started with his special search / order directly in the earlier beginning of the game. What the programmers like to create ... very nice person ... Roland Pfister. I had a lot fun with him. If you like to have the great Leiden version (2x ranking 4) please send me a mail.

Arthur from Walter Raveneck (The Netherland) is MAC.
I try it each year for my older winboard site and one time he told me that he will try it. Unfortunatly, same with the Massy maestro ChessWizard, never I got ChessWizard and Arthur.

Walter was the specialist for knights-maneuver. Wish-engine number 2 in winboard times. First was SOS ... but SOS I got for Arena later. To eat with Walter dutch frikandel was an event. But I had allways won ... means, I had eaten more.

Really a nice time.

Woodpusher is a tall order. I don't think it was released to the general public.

Sometimes, when I think of historical engines that I do not have in my collection, I think about Leo Dijksman (RIP) of WBEC Ridderkerk, and I wonder whatever happened to his computers that he did testing on. It would be a shame if his treasure trove of old engines and tournament games were lost because his computers were discarded or sold. Jealous of his collection.

Absolutely, I even think we should find a way to permanently back up Norbert and Jim's online engine archives, and Gunther's (maybe even the old sdchess.ru stuff also) too.

I'll even throw all of my (non-commercial) collection on there.

One shared repository for ancient stuff would be awesome.

Would be glad to contribute for the hosting etc if you guys wanna crowdfund such a project?!

If not, maybe I'll just do it myself when I have time.
