Hi,
analyze the draw games with stronger engines, you will find out the answere is "no".
If you are using Stockfish (strongest) ... give Stockfish more time as in the eng-eng game.
In most of cases all is a question of depth of search.
But after all ...
With lesser pieces on board in equal positions the probability is high that most of top engines produced a draw. So I am thinking often engines produced the optimal way of playing this games.
In my humble opinion :
In times today the secret between TOP-Engines is the middle-game with many pieces on board, in 95% no longer the endgames.
Most interesting today to find out which of the engines are able to play the middle-game with a lot of aggressiveness.
The stronger the engines, more interesting the middle-game.
Best
Frank

What I like to see is a ponder-quote to the end of the game.
Engine are able to give the information: 72% ponder hits.
Or better ...
53% ponder hits with more as 16 pieces on board
71% ponder hits with lesser as 16 pieces on board
A ponder-hit quote a good way of manipulation draws. So engine can give faster a draw if the ponder-hit quote is high.
A lot of engines like it to make a pawn move before 50-rules ended in absolutely clear draw-position.
For us nice to see and a good indicator for such questions you like to give.

Another thing that top engines can do is to check every move after move 4 of any opening book and before playing it, if it find that the search of the top engine is better than the stored Opening move after the 4th move the engine will not play it, and instead make the move found by its search , in that way moves stored on any opening books that are not as good as the move found by the top engine would automatically be stop and the engine would continue with its owns search

I decided to continue with my experiment that I said I was going to hold the same Tournament match but only with the first 6 engines which are on the top list of Graham tournament, I restricted the LowDraw1000.cgb book to 4 moves depth for Stockfish, Berserk and Rubichess, whereas, the other engines opening Book are restricted deeper to a 8 moves Depth. Your Prediction was correct Graham.
NOTE: I should replace Clover 6.0 with Koivisto 9.0
19.5 - Stockfish 16 64-bit (Using 4 moves depth)
14.0 - Berserk 11.1 64-bit (Using 4 moves depth)
13.5 - RubiChess 20230918 64-bit (Using 4 moves depth)
11.5 - CS Tal 2.00 64-bit (Using 8 moves depth)
11.0 - Caissa 1.12 64-bit (Using 8 moves depth)
10.5 - Clover 6.0 64-bit (Using 8 moves depth)
