Looking for Software for Automatic Evaluation and Commenting of Variations

Post by synthese »

Hi,

Even though I know this might not be the perfect place, I am looking for software or a feature and hope for your help.

As part of self-analysis of a game, I input variations. After going through the game, I want to have it evaluated and analyzed by an engine – including the variations I have entered.

It would be perfect if the software could show if there are even better variations than the ones I have entered.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me.

Best regards,
Harry

Aquarium -> Idea -> Analyze all moves
Will do it.

I do it for checking my repertoire file.

I don't know if there is any free software for this.

a good question (*), and (so far with a quick search) i couldn't find it in free programs (or it
seemed like it could work but it didn't...). But the Shredder GUI can do it easily, menu, mode,
game analysis, don't cross 'erase variants', choose time per move, and a threshold for the 'blundercheck'/annotation of the engine; Shredder Classic (free trial period, and 30$ registration):
https://www.shredderchess.com/windows/d ... er-13.html
And Fritz(19 or maybe some earlier versions) also should be able to do it:
https://help.chessbase.com/f19-eng.pdf
p 265, blundercheck feature, use option 'check variations'

(*) because to improve your chess as a human it's often recommended to first analyze
the game(s) you played *without* any engine; and then inserting variants where you think
you gone wrong etc Only thereafter you put the engine to work, whereby the free programs
assume you just scroll through the variants with infinite analysis. Showing again that there's
often a difference between what programmers make, and many users (ideally) need.

Hi

thanks for the quick and detailed explanation. My goal is to analyze my own games with various variations and then have them checked by chess software.

I will test the mentioned programs directly to see if they can help me with this.

Best,
Harry
