tf
although it took me some effort in looking up his statement as you only posted a query with alzheimer
he didn't announce 'i have alzheimer', he wrote something as 'i think i'm getting alzheimer' which
imo sounds (and probably is) different(ly), although i can't be sure, i admit; neither can you.
for the rest i leave it to the moderator(s).
You are right - he didn't say it outright. For those who are interested, his actual words:
24-Nov-23:"Xianggi is a piece of Cake, Not what my brain need to battle alzheimer's disease"
24-Jan-23:"You are correct, ChessQueen is an idiot with Alzheimer, and 2 account on Talkchess in case he forget the password then he might remember the 2nd, and you are a genius with 2 bachelor's degree and a Master "
08-Jan-23:My 8 years old grandson did not know, therefore, not everybody ==>https://abrok.eu/stockfish/ it is NOT so easy when you have Alzheimer's disease at age 58, and try to help him find it
14-Aug-22:Note: When you get old like me you forget a lot of things, could that be alzheimer ?
Conclusion: he seems to think he has a memory challenge, but we cannot be confident that he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. There's a change in tone between Aug 22 and Jan 23, but it's easy to come up with alternative explanations other than a diagnosis.
Human chess is partly about tactics and strategy, but mostly about memory
Even if one has a disorder, one still has to obey the law - and YouTube embedding shouldn't be take away from everyone because one member abuses it.
There's no easy answer here - unless someone can write a database trigger/agent that automatically moves his posts to the kindergarten forum on creation.

I know of no law that prohibits the posting of youtube links. And the embedding is done by the forum software, if it is illegal the forum owner should rather do something about it.

The issue in YouTube links in signature. We do not need a full colour video screen shot of the posters view of the Ukraine War or whatever every time he posts, especially if he posts a lot. It’s spamming.
I thought we had disabled signature based YouTube links. I’ld prefer it if ALL YouTube type links in main text body remained unactivated also. This is not a tabloid newspaper.

Apologies - I didn't make myself clear at all. There is no law against embedding YouTube videos, and YouTube actively encourages it. I like forums being able to embed videos: people are more likely to look at it than they would be to follow the link to the YouTube website. There are plenty of very good chess videos worth sharing.
What I should have said was, "In everyday life, even if one has a disorder, one still has to obey the law", making the point that even if you have a disability, you'll still be charged under criminal law if you commit a crime.

"Chessqueen" has been banned ?...oh dear, thats kinda "relaxy" indeed
i never read a post of him i was interested in but i never put him on my ignore-list as well...for me personally thats fine but u guys probably know that you destroyed his life, isnt it ?...personally id prefere a temporarily ban though honestly to give his life a 2nd chance !

Agreed. I always found that annoying and inappropriate for a chess forum. However I did put him on my ignore list subsequently.
I signed up at the original CCC in October '97. Then again in 2007. So I've been around here a long time. But since I'm mainly a lurker who VERY rarely posts, most here will never have heard of me.
Back in the late 90s, early 2000s, CCC was truly a wild and wooly place. It was a computer chess forum where chess took a back seat to fighting, trolling, spamming and unprovoked attacks.
I marvel at the difference between now and the 'good' old days. Now, I can scroll through topics, assured that most of the bandwidth is actually devoted to said topic. It seems nuisance level posters are not the plague they used to be.
Having said that, I realize CQ was a pain in the rear who flouted the rules and got on a lot of peoples nerves, But banned for life? It seems a Draconian punishment for someone who was here on nearly a daily basis. Plus, I suspect this place was a big part of his life.
I would have tried slowly escalating penalties until their was no choice but to kick him out for life. Or had the mods already been down that route with him?
