Qualcomm say their new mobile SOC, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, is the fastest mobile SOC. We only have their word for it right now, but I am inclined to believe them.
Well done Qualcomm! It was an anomaly that Apple, who are not SOC specialists, had the fastest SOC for so long: in nature, it is the specialist animals that have the highest "specifications", not the generalist ones.

Hopefully this will be resolved before it disrupts SOC supplies, but ARM have told Qualcomm that they're withdrawing their licenses!
The dispute has been going on for around 2 years, after Qualcomm bought a company that has more ARM licenses than itself, and is using those licenses which, for some reason, ARM don't want them to have.
