Shawn Xylophone ??
If he has an interest to post here , why is he using such an idiotic name ?!
Sorry guys. But this is contraproductive. I guess these fellows only want to destroy the community.

If you read the full thread (painful), you'll observe that the name change is most likely to draw out, and then point out, the hypocrisy exhibited from the moderation team, in their selective/targeted enforcement of such rules.
Its actually an act to fortify the community, by trying to have standards be followed.

How does the forum benefit from the presence of the author of a strong engine when the latter never posts about his engine or to help other people, but only to make nasty remarks about others?

Exactly. It is an example of not respecting and abiding by moderation decisions, and thus a charter violation. This guy is bent on making trouble, and the community would greatly benefit from kicking him off the forum. Or perhaps restricting his write access to the Kindergarten section only, which I think is possible in the new forum section. Then he can annoy others there.AndrewGrant wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 10:14 pmIf you read the full thread (painful), you'll observe that the name change is most likely to draw out, and then point out, the hypocrisy exhibited from the moderation team, in their selective/targeted enforcement of such rules.

You seem to have missed the mark there, HGM. It was a commentary about your inconsistent application of the rules concerning names. For example:hgm wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 10:50 pmExactly. - Discrimination against Viren on the basis of his sir name, paired with caring about Mr. Xylophone.
- But at the same time, saying things along the lines of "only a criminal would use a fake name".
- But then ignoring the guy openly using a fake name and pretending to be a Stanford professor.
- But then also saying "The task of the moderators is to see to it that the forum can be properly used. Not enforcing the real-name policy"
I suppose I don't actually care what you do regarding the charter. But it would be nice if it was uniform across people you like and dislike.

Re: Questions for the FG about the organization of the election
All of this arguing makes me feel nauseous.
Although there is fault on both sides, I prefer members to use their real names unless given permission otherwise.
Yes, one could argue that using a fake but sensible name can't be proven not to be true, but we should be able to rely on the commonsense and integrity of people.
