Yah, 28 Elo behind Stockfish is "weak". What a stupid post.
The head to head is probably 4 times that difference lol.

I was using the 40/2 CCRL rating list for my number, but yes, I realize that different testing methodologies have different results.

the most recent SF versions seem to be a bit better again,
end 2024 i preferred Obsidian rather than Sf because the latter
more often indicated 0.0 in some (imo) unclear endgame positions.

As it stands now, for correspondence chess it doesn't matter so much
which engine is used. When starting a new tourn, i usually choose
slightly off beat openings, hoping my opponent will go wrong (when
looking to an opening book, rather than doing more in depth analysis).

The latest Obsidian commit: "disable bench". Is this making engine stronger :) ?

Gabe just being lazy about unifying the bench between avx, avx2, and avx512, due to floats.
He is just by-passing OpenBench benching mechanism.

OBSIDIAN 16.2
Good morning,
Unfortunately my PC only supports SSE3 and SSE41, could you compile it for me?
Thank you in advance.
