Re: On-line engine blitz tourney July
RofChade was a bit too strong and managed to win 6 games for a total of 7.5 points. Nightmare didn't do bad either with 6 points.
It's amazing that Nightmare single threaded on an atom processor managed to get 6 points too.
Wasp, Goldbar, Marvin and atomGoldbar ended on a shared 3th place with 5.5 points.
Lunar (a brand new engine) did pretty good too with 5 points and a performance rating of 2693.
I hope to see you all next time.

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney July
Yeah, got some nice draws against some of the higher finishers, but that loss against Atom Nightmare was kind of dissapointing, especially since "full fat" nightmare was one of the engines I managed to draw, and in pre-game testing I was able to fairly consistently draw Atom Nightmare. My result against RofChade wasn't unexpected, but I got -2 out of book... Not sure what happened there, but I doubt it cost me many pointsJoost Buijs wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 10:34 pm [...]

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney July
Arasan had a debug tracing flag on in the build, which hurt its performance. And lost the first game when it rejected a move from ICC as illegal: not sure what happened there.

sadly the tourney was announced here 2 days before it took place; not everyone follows talkchess on a daily basis
a week in advance would be nicer

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney July
Usually I announce the tournament on Wednesday, 3 days before the tournament starts, but the forum was slow like hell so I decided to try it next morning.
Since a year or so the announcement is also sent by email, I have the email addresses of virtually all accounts registered on the server except the one from Daniel 'Isa'.
As far as I know Martin 'Cheng' doesn't have an account on the server, probably there was an account for 'Cheng' on the old server ran by HGM.
In the future I will announce the tournament a few days earlier, no problem.
