At the end of last year it was built up to 20 billion positions, the largest chess opening book in the world. Checking today it is pruned down to 557,010,123 (with a new winter theme and pretty pink background). Why the sudden reduction?
I was looking forward to downloading noobpftw's annual end-of-year database update to his public ftp site.
What happened to the chessdbcn database?

In light of recent SF eval normalization changes, it was decided to restart the construction. Note at a significant portion of the old data was also calculated pre-NNUE era. So hopefully in the course of one or two months it'll get its coverage back with significantly boosted amount of workers. The old data is still around in case of need, however so far it seems to me that only patience is needed.

In checking the Chess Cloud Database Query Interface today I notice that AI-generated position analysis in descriptive English are now appended to the bottom of the move list. For example, for the standard opening position is says this:
cdb.cn is my favorite online chess tool. Following the opening to early middlegame phase of live games is bereft of enjoyment without it.
When was this feature added and what is the source of the text output? (Note that the "AI Strategy" listed in the left panel is distinctly different. It is simply stockfish analysis. "When there is no existing data or insufficient information, CDB can still recommend a move, these moves are provided by Stockfish.")White stands on perfectly balanced ground, with a full suite of standard opening ideas—central pawn advances and early knight development—all offering essentially equal chances, so the game remains completely even at this stage.

After 1. g4 it has -190 and "Black enjoys a clear edge, with the opportunity to seize central space and challenge White’s premature pawn thrust, while maintaining solid piece development and a safe king."
