In my testrun (of course using cutechess-cli) all works fine (26 games of Virdithas (singlethread) running simultaneously): Viridithas 19.0 avx512 has played 7250 games until now (of 15000) and no disconnects, timelosses, illegal moves happened and there is a measureable progress in Celo. So, it seems, it is more a problem of these old and buggy GUIs.

CuteChess GUI is not old and buggy. It is likely the lightest and fastest out there. Cli obviously lighter still.

I think it is a tablebase issue , not GUI. You don't use them, which explains why you aren't having issues. You know what they say about jumping to conclusions.
