What is going on with CCRL rating site?
It seems to be old info from 1.5 years ago and when you try to go to other parts of the site, it says forbidden, so somehow it's either being upgraded or broken? Any info would be appreciated?

I have completed the blitz update days ago but I can't upload it to the usual place. Allegedly, we have exceeded our monthly capacity. That probably means we have to wait one week till things get back to normal.

Re: What is going on with CCRL rating site?
Sam (Simbelmyne author) kindly pays the costs for our site being hosted on a server. He told us......
I'd been getting emails from superhosting.bg about exceeding the server's monthly capacity. I had a quick look, and noticed that this had been the case for months (we've been exceeding the maximum resources every month for a while now), but I've never gotten an email before, and I guess we've never seen any repercussions from it.
The email said they would stop the server, though, so I just tried bumping us up to a more expensive plan. The original plan had 3700 CPU minutes (the amount of minutes the cpu on our shared server is dedicated to our workloads), which I bumped up to 5700 CPU minutes, but we exceeded that almost immediately as well.
I had a quick scan, and it's as I thought: we've been getting bombarded by AI crawlers. I've added all of the worst offenders to our block lists, etc, so that should mean that going forward, we won't see these usage spikes.
Still not finding a clear way for me to increase the capacity for the remainder of the month, but I'll send them an email and see what they say.

Hopefully Sam's actions will be successful and things back to normal once the new billing period kicks in. Clearly it needs to be monitored regularly going forward.

A brutal-yet-effective solution that I used a while ago on a personal project to keep bots out:
Query https://ip-api.com/docs/ to detect requests from hosted addresses, and cache them persistently to keep the queries to a minimum.
The downside is that it may prevent people from accessing the site via VPN or from their work.

Some people from sanctioned regions cannot access most Western internet resources without VPN.

For those interested:
I have completed this week's blitz list update. You can find it at https://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/404.t ... librate=no
That's a 1-CPU best versions only selection. It looks rather ugly. You can compare engine versions, I don't think you can do much more.
As soon as our site gets back to normal again I'm going to upload the update to its usual place.
