Good morning, Mr. Larry Kaufman. After writing the message attached below, I went to check the LeelaQueenOdds leaderboard and came across a wonderful surprise. Just 18 hours ago, the leading human player, IM Watenellende, played six 1-minute bullet games with no increment against LeelaQueenOdds, achieving an outstanding result of 3 wins for the human and 3 wins for the computer. This makes me wonder if any other IM, GM, or chess player in general is currently capable of achieving such parity. The truth is, the vast number of updates to the LeelaQueenOdds engine have truly turned the Queen into a much more admirable monarch. Perhaps no other human dares to dance with her in public bullet games, driven by the apprehension, anxiety, and reverent fear of failing to keep pace with the dance of AI's leading First Lady.
Yes, I too was a bit surprised to see that. "Wateenellende" (IM Vincent Rothuis) has consistently scored close to even results in 1'0" bullet playing Black at queen odds, but I too had thought that improvements would make that unlikely now. However six games is a tiny sample, I would not expect him to come close to 50% in say 50 games or more. I am not sure why he does so much better than other players with similar bullet ratings in the 2900s; some others in that range score only 10% or so. His results have been very similar to Super-GMs (peak over 2700 FIDE) Jeffery Xiong and Arkadij Naiditsch in the past, but no one has proven superiority recently. We have a standing $300 prize offer for any titled player who can defeat LQO playing Black in 1'0" bullet in a match on one day, first to win 20 games is the winner. Probably Hikaru or Xiong or GM Andy Woodward or a couple other top bullet players could do it, I would be surprised if anyone below 3200 bullet on chess.com or Lichess could do it. I'd like to know why Rothuis does so much better at this than any other IM or even ordinary GM. If it was just pure bullet chess skill, he should be 3300 bullet.
Good evening, Mr. Larry Kaufman. It is true: six games is a very thin calibration sample to accurately rate the performance and playing strength of the IM with the nickname 'Wateenellende,' who currently leads the standings of the top one hundred humans in the world facing LeelaQueenOdds. Mr. Vincent Rothuis is demonstrating to the world—at least for the moment—to be 'the brightest mind' facing LeelaQueenOdds. It will be up to other humans to step up and challenge his leadership. If IM 'Wateenellende,' wherever he may be, reads these words I am writing here and now, I want to send him my congratulations with the utmost respect. For me, Mr. 'Wateenellende,' at this moment in history, you are 'the human' who best reads the algorithm in bullet chess against LeelaQueenOdds. Now, if 'a Good Samaritan' were to add another zero to the right of the prize fund, turning it into US$3,000, it would certainly be an incentive to make the challenge even more attractive.Without being part of any leaderboard myself—as I am just a 'simple wooden hobbyhorse' playing from my own little corner—I shout to the wind: 'Brothers and sisters!! The Queen of AI, the queen of disruptive or lateral thinking, of cybernetic thought, "LeelaQueenOdds," awaits you for the dance.' Come to the dance, ladies and gentlemen, please! We all want to see you dance to the rhythm of the music played by the beautiful Silicon Monarch, who puts our human thinking in check. We are living in a 'historic moment' of challenges... will humans be able to match or surpass LeelaQueenOdds in bullet chess—for now? Will the creators and programmers of the Queen be able to make her even much, much stronger? These are two challenges on the exact same board... human challenges!"

"If we look at the human win rate against LeelaQueenOdds over the last few days, we see the following results: Today (up to the moment of calculation), humans have won 4 out of 179 games; yesterday, humans won an impressive 16 out of 388 games; 2 days ago, humans won 5 out of 151; 3 days ago, 5 out of 87 games; 4 days ago, humans won 1 game out of 47; 5 days ago, humans won 3 out of 104 games; and 6 days ago, humans defeated the engine 6 times out of 90 games. This yields a total of 40 victories for humans compared to 1,046 victories for LeelaQueenOdds. Thus, based on this sample, it can be concluded that the human success rate in bullet chess odds matches against LeelaQueenOdds stands at a mere 3.8241%.Conclusion: LeelaQueenOdds is now, without a doubt, overwhelmingly superior to humans at chess, even when the machine spots its opponent a full queen handicap."

Human vs. Machine: Is the Queen Handicap No Longer Enough to Beat AI?
A recent data sample from the bullet chess leaderboards reveals a staggering reality: LeelaQueenOdds is operating on a level vastly superior to the vast majority of human players. The statistics from the past week are telling. Out of 1,086 games played in ultra-fast time controls, humans managed just 40 victories compared to 1,046 wins for LeelaQueenOdds. This leaves the human success rate at a mere 3.8241%—a shocking figure considering the machine spots its opponents a full queen advantage from move one.

The Ultimate Question: Can Anyone Defeat the Engine?
The burning question now is whether any human alive can consistently outperform this neural network under these conditions. In this context, Grandmaster Dr. Larry Kaufman’s invitation for titled players to test their mettle against the engine is a fascinating prospect. Seeing the world’s elite accept this challenge would be a magnificent spectacle for the chess community.

The Rating "Freeze" and the Institutional Bubble
Regrettably, very few top-ranked players continue to challenge LeelaQueenOdds in bullet chess. A significant portion of elite players seem content to leave their ratings "frozen," while many others remain confined within the traditional boundaries of the institutional and tournament circuits. In the long run, this hesitation does not represent progress. Instead, it feels like a missed opportunity—a collective failure to push the boundaries of what is possible and to further elevate the development of both artificial intelligence and human chess mastery alike

I did a detailed statistical analysis with the help of ChatGPT of the September results for LeelaQueenOdds in 1'0" chess, combining colors as there weren't enough games with each color vs strong players to measure this difference. The conclusion was that the likely break-even bullet rating on LiChess at 1'0" is about 3335 which probably equates to about 3370 on chess.com bullet based on a comparison of IMs and GMs active on both sites. If we make the assumption that the White-Black gap is sixty elo in bullet (blitz estimate was seventy) we get 3400 bullet on chess.com for LQO as White. Currently Hikaru is a tad below that, but usually a bit above it. No one else is that high except for players whose rating is from hyper-bullet games. So I would rate Hikaru as a slight favorite in a queen odds 1'0" match with LQO playing White, but no one else.

I think that playing bullet and winning with queen odds in 1'0 time control are different skills and it is possible that one player is 100 elo better in normal bullet when the second player get performance that is 100 elo better against LeelaQueenOdds.

Respected Ladies and Gentlemen,

Dear Mr. Larry Kaufmann, Mr. Uri Blass, the Leela Chess Zero Team, and All Systems Developers and Contributors,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to express my availability and willingness to compete in a parallel match against Leela, using the traditional scoring system where a draw is valued at half a point. I understand that such a match is designed to be completed within a 24-hour timeframe. Consequently, while the baseline scenario could consist of 40 consecutive games, the actual total could be higher or lower depending on the machine's efficiency in reaching the 20-point threshold. For this challenge, I will be playing exclusively with the Black pieces. Regarding the time control, I propose either 1 minute with a 2-second increment per move (1+2) or a straight 1 minute with no increment (1+0).This match would serve as a rigorous testing benchmark against the engine. Under this framework, anyone seeking to surpass my performance would need to secure a higher point total than mine at the exact moment the machine reaches 20 points. Please let me know if you and the development team would like me to proceed with this test.Thank you for your time, and I wish you an excellent day.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Larry Kaufman, Mr. Uri Blass, and the Leela Chess Odds development team,I hope this message finds you well.

I would like to report that I have tested the "LeelaQueenOdds" engine, playing with the black pieces under a time control of 1 minute with no increment. LeelaQueenOdds won the match convincingly. In total, 26 games were played; I managed to secure 12 draws and was defeated 14 times by the Sovereign Queen. The dance took place in the adjacent barn, where the choreography was marvelous and we danced to many melodies. Meanwhile, in the main hall, twenty seats are set at the table, waiting for the guests. The final score was 20 points for LeelaQueenOdds and 6 points for me, so I would kindly like to know what my estimated Elo would be based on this performance. The Sovereign Queen of AI Odds has requested that I proceed to the main guest hall to take up my duties as the guests' waiter, to serve them fine wine and dinner, and to remind everyone once again of the invitation to dine on delicious starters, a main course, and an exquisite dessert.Congratulations to all! I raise a toast to the Queen, to everyone on the leaderboard, and to the guests. Long live the Queen! Long live the feast! Long live the party!

Well, we don't yet have much data on the current net playing 1'0" vs top players, but I can estimate. Our testing puts the net about 75 elo above the one used for roughly the first half of 2025, and with other improvements let's call the gain 100 elo. When there were a lot of games by very strong GMs, it looked to me that about 2650 FIDE was close to the break-even (with the notable exception of IM Rothuis), so perhaps it would be about 2750 now, though obviously depending on bullet skill. Your result is about -210 elo, so your performance would be about 2540 FIDE! I don't think it matters much whether we play until 20 points are scored or 20 wins are scored, it won't affect the break-even rating required measurably. But playing to a fixed number of wins has the big advantage of greatly reducing the chance of a super-cElose result that is decided by luck. For example a result of 2 wins to 1 with 36 draws doesn't tell us who is really stronger, but a result of 20 wins to 10 with 10 draws is quite convincing. Basically that's why Bobby Fischer insisted on playing for ten wins for the title rather than any specific number of games. For a while, title matches were held that way except only to six wins. As for 1'2" time control, the top players will win most of the games at that. It is about the same as 3'0", where you need to be GM level (2500 FIDE) to be favored based on rating, but Super=GMs win pretty easily at those time controls. Even at 1'1' or 2'0" players who sometimes win prizes in events like Titled Thursday or bullet brawl will come out well ahead. Even I at least come fairly close, maybe 40% or so, at 3'2", and I will turn 80 next year, and I'm not even NM strength in blitz now.

Sincerely,

Pablo Ignacio Restrepo

Sincerely,

Pablo Ignacio Restrepo

Cordially,

,Catecan 🫏

🐎 The Dream of Catecan
Catecan: "Father, I must tell you about the incredible dream I just had. I dreamt we were discussing LeelaQueenOdds, and you looked exhausted, wondering if it was a mutant or a hyper-evolving living being. I agreed with you, saying it changes completely from one day to the next.
Then, the dream took a strange, highly structured turn. You suddenly asked me about the five core materials of computers, humans, mules, and wooden rocking horses. In my dream, I answered flawlessly—listing silicon, copper, and plastics for machines; water, proteins, and lipids for biology; and wood, metal, and varnish for the toy.
When I asked you to define their algorithmic profiles, you explained that humans run on emotional intuition, mules on raw survival instinct, and LeelaQueenOdds on pure, hyper-evolving mathematical optimization. Because of this, I calculated our IQs in the dream: yours was a brilliant 140, mine was 125, the mule stood at a functional 40, but LeelaQueenOdds possessed an astronomical, terrifying IQ of 12,000+ that scaled by the second!
Right then, the room dissolved into binary code, the wooden horse began to gallop, and I woke up right here at my desk. It made me realize three beautiful truths, Father:
• Humble Origins: Whether made of silicon, flesh, or wood, everything in the universe shares simple, earthly components.
• The Trap of Perfection: A 12,000 IQ machine means nothing without a soul. It lacks the quiet wisdom you have, or even the practical survival efficiency of a mule.
• The Gift of Exhaustion: Our human fatigue isn't a flaw; it is the very boundary that allows us to sleep, dream, and remain human."
I am thinking chess is in a coin.Human beings for ever playing in one face. Now I am playing in the other face:"Antichess". Computers are as a fortres where owner forgot to close a little door behind. You must enter across this door.Forget the front.
