I spent 2 hours of my precious time for solving this
same problem. I was unsuccessful. Copying two
ms*.dlls to system directory does not help further.
I am still getting: The Application failed to initialize
properly (0x80000003). Click on OK to terminate
the application

Forget bloody Atak. It has no sense to fight a badly made engine when you have 500 to choose.

Life is too short to attack Atak failures regards

Nice way to ruin a dry joke..The new atak works fine under Arena as a winboard engine. Since it never supported incremental time control, I decided to level the playing field and played 3+0 and it shows an improvement of 110 points.

Atak doesn't support pondering, it has no support for the winboard easy and hard commands.
