Atak 6.0

Post by Tony Thomas »

I downloaded it about 12 hours ago, now that I am ready to run it, it is giving me all kinds of error messages. First it was the MSVCR90.dll, now its saying it cant find MSVCM90.dll. Anyone else having similar problems? Is there an easy way to fix it than by downloading 100's of .dlls?

Thanks in advance

Previous versions wouldn't work under either Chessbase or Shredder GUIs, so I'd say that this is still the case.

Wait for the compiles and necessary dll files from our master Jim  his compiles always do work for me (except maybe the arbit Knightcap which require complicated set up in Arena)

I doubt that the problem is interface related, the darn thing doesnt even open in console mode. Since the previous versions work under Arena, I am pretty sure you can make it work under other interfaces by fiddling with the adapters.

Believe me, you couldn't.

well some of the engines may cause problems when using adapters, most of the engines do function well, right? chessbase seems to be little faster, but i don't see how i could copy paste the results.

Did you ask for help from Jim, H.G, or Alessandro?? Atak didnt support incremental time controls, so it played way below its strength in my tournaments anway. It works as a winboard engine so you cant complain..
You cant expect a mustang engine to work perfectly in a Camaro.

Mustang 4.69 works perfectly in all WB2 GUIs
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

The author can surely use static libraries at compile time and spare us the dll downloads.
