Here is what I purchased (Core 2 Quad) for $700:

Q9300 (2.5 Ghz)
8 GB (PC2 6400 800Mhz)
ATI HD 2600 (256MB)
500 GB Harddrive

And the rest of the normal stuff ..., Thanks for all of the advice

I prefer the Gigabyte nVidia 8800GT PCI-E ($69) after mail-in rebate, but we´re talking about a card that outperforms the 7300GT by a lot.

Is that you in the pic? You look too young to be ordering things from the internet unless you are a wizz-kid using his Dad's CC details

   No, the picture is of my son (Malcom). His P4 3GHz system is still enough for him right now. As for me on the other hand, well I'll just quote Wael, who quoted you know who ...

Well, I keep getting hit, yet I still don't feel like I'm moving forward against them yet. Damn Chess Engines ...

Keep on moving Ted,don't give up,but try to obtain a butt shield as it will make the impact more acceptable

BTW,our dear friend Tony had another conception for my wordings, kinda a dirty goat thoughts :P

Anyway, good luck with the new system,I also would like to know some results regarding the boost in performance of the MP engines you have....

For me, You only get one chance to make a 1st impression. Dell lost it their 1st time at bat. My Computer arrived today, I unpacked it, set it up, plugged it in and it would not power up. There is no way I will believe that this product was tested before it left the shop. Would I like a exchange, NO WAY, I only want and expect a complete refund. I could have made one better myself.

Looking back now, I wish I had. I guess it was just because I work with these thing 5 days a week, I just did not feel like doing so.

Sorry for your disappointment Ted,actualy there were a lot of issues here in the forum advicing to stay away from Dell products,I think Ned was the one that rised the issue....
Of course your PC wasn't tested at all,but maybe the problem is trivial than you think,I am sure an expert like you will discover the reason for not powering up....
Walking the road of the complete refund will be a painfull journey for you, taking money is not easy like giving it back unfortunately....
Look, the price is good, try contacting the nearest Dell support center if you can't handle it yourself....
good luck buddy :D
