I use Arena 1.1 also. Tried the latest beta, but found bugs.
There was a huge list of bugs listed in the old Arena forum. Perhaps somebody kept a copy?

Hi Wael,
You must be missing something. I have just installed Arasan 10.4, started it, changed the threads parameter to 2 in UCI options then saved it as a new engine under the name Arasan 10.4 64-bit 2CPU.
Hi Gabor,
Sorry,I missed to mention something:
yes,it does save it as a new engine,no problem,but....does it use the same amount of hash table as the original engine
The problem is that when I save say the Deep Shredder 9.1 as a new personality, the personality uses much lower amount of hash table than the one you are giving in the UCI menu....this is the problem

I have the feeling it is only Shredder that behaves like this. Arasan uses the same amount of memory (just checked) after being modified and saved as a new personality.
Hmmm, it's not as simple as that. It seems there are engines which behave correctly (hash size remains, e.g. Naum) while others decrease hash size after being modified (e.g. Rybka).
It seems it is an UCI implementation problem, but are you sure Arena is guilty? Maybe the engines...
I am sure it's an Arena problem, under Arena 1.1 this problem doesn't even exist....

Now Wael, I heard this many times and I think it's time for me to ask what stable means exactly. I have been using Arena 1.99b since it was released and I've never encountered any problems apart from the occassional wrong forfeit claims (game ends and clocks still run).
Regards,
I could never get the 1.99 to indicate what opening it was using.
I downloaded the eco file and put it in the Arena file but it still
didn't work.
Best to you
I use 1.99b3, with ecocodes9 within Arena folder, and it works fine.
Now I see: it works with Arena 1.99b3, but doesn´t show the correct Opening Code. Anyway 1.99b3 and 1.99b4 are better than 1.99b5.

I downloaded that version above and put it in Arena b5. Now it works
thanks. I will check to see if it gives the correct opening info.
