I am wondering if there are any "dream engine matches" you'd like to see on this system before I lock it down for a few months computing checkers databases?

Some specs on the unit itself:

This post has me concerned. It seems like advertising for a commercial product. Especially the inclusion of the link to LiquidNitrogenOverclocking.com

It's not a commercial product, because you can't get them anywhere. I build them one at a time. And where is the commercial?

The computers on LNO are sold to corporations, not to individuals. Check the pricing if there is any doubt.

I am going to be solving the 10-piece perfect play databases (8.5 trillion endgame positions) for the game of checkers, and the calculations are going to run for at least 6-7 months on each of the 4 systems I am using to run. I've mentioned this several times on the board, and showed some interesting checkers positions.

If that doesn't convince you, go to this link

http://webdocs.cs.ualberta.ca/~chinook/thankyou/

That is the site of Dr. Jonathan Schaeffer, who solved the game of checkers in 2007. You will notice my name is on this page under "Database Verification". I helped the Chinook team, in a small way, and Schaeffer acknowledged that help on his website, and in his new book, "One Jump Ahead: Computer Perfection At Checkers".

My post was aimed at asking if anyone wanted to see some ENGINE MATCHES on a machine whose performance won't be available for years to the mainstream public, before I tie it up for the next several months anyway.

Unless you are giving them away, you are selling them.

If you're not interested in "advertising" here, you should have no objection to removing all links to LNO.com from your posts.

Thanks
I just ran this on the water-cooled system I built this morning. It reported 4294 MHZ (call it 4.3 GHz) and it turned in these results:

Relative Speed = 32.79
KNPS = 15737

I took a screen capture and will FTP it to my site in a little while. I also have the CPU temperatures showing in that window.

I ran it on the Peltier cooled system and it turned in these results:

Relative Speed = 32.59
KNPS = 15642

Slightly less than the water cooled unit, but that was a "special batch" I got, it's what they call a "cherry chip". It had slightly better overclocking results than any other i7-920 I've overclocked.

From the stickied message to prospective new members:

Also do not attach a website link unless it relates to chess or is your personal webpage.

Sorry Ed, but could you please remove the link from your signature.

Cheers,
Graham.

Interesting, I have the same setup. However, I had no idea it could be overclocked to such extremes.

Yes, this is Kilo Knodes Per Second.

When I run your program, will it create any registry keys or put any dll's anywhere.
