Dream Engine Matches @ 4.5 GHz

Post by LiquidNitrogenOverclocker »

Now that I have stabilized my 4.5 GHz Intel Core i7-920 with a sleek, new Peltier-cooled electrothermocouple device

I am wondering if there are any "dream engine matches" you'd like to see on this system before I lock it down for a few months computing checkers databases?

Some specs on the unit itself:

I'm actually very interested about let's say Crafty's NPS count on your rig.

Keep in mind this is a single core, but I am thinking about building some multi-core systems.

Which version of crafty would you like me to run? Send me a link to download it, and I will make sure I am running the same version you are suggesting.

Do you mean single CPU? Because I thought that i7 was a quad....

Anyway, nice system.

Stockfish 1.6.3 x64 vs. Naum 4.1 x64 would be nice to see, fairly long T/C, however many games you have time for :D.

Thanks,
Peter

Can you run 2 tests:

1 - Fritzmark. On my I7-920 running at stock (2.67 GHZ) speed, I get:

17.15

8233 nps

2 - Report how good your cooling is. Use any top of the line engines, using all cores and and set up the starting position and run infinite analysis (either in console mode or with a GIU) for 5 minutes - while still running, report your cpu temperature.

Thanks

That is Kilo-nps, is it not? I think you should be at or near 8.2 million nps.

In the meantime, if you can, run my benchmark on your machine:

This will take a few hours to run, but I am curious to know where you system is with respect to my Peltier unit. My system does it in 03:32:04 and is 5th on the benchmark list.

I will look for the Fritz benchmark and send you those results.[/code]

I apologize for the size of this next screenshot, it was taken about 2 weeks ago after I had run the computer for several hours. I'm not 100% sure if this was my first Peltier experiment or not (the one from just this past week has better cooling) but I'll redo it again and let you know.

Yeah, also you can post the fen strings so we can measure the difference on our dinosaurs.

Which FEN strings are you talking about?
