Maurizio, the information on the Houdini Facebook page is still valid.

P.S. Please call me Robert, forums are not that informal :).

Houdini 3 is still scheduled for September 2012.

The past couple of months have been relatively quiet for the Houdini development, I've spent most of the time working on my big telescope.
If you're interested, see http://www.cruxis.com/scope/scope1100.htm .

Robert, if you ever run into anything like that again- needing anything for it you can't find- let me know and I will put you in touch with a friend in Dallas, Texas-USA. If it is for a telescope and can't be found- he will find it. His vocation is the same as yours, but his 2 passions are telescopes and rebuilding race car engines.

Give him a break :( The telescope is interesting.

I thought I was giving him (and everyone else) a break by joking around a bit. Of course that telescope looks frickin' neat.
He's using the telescope to find a new,out of this world ideas to improve Houdini

Beautiful Robert! :D

I am myself a big astronomy enthusiast, although I'm using a commercial Meade LX 200 telescope. Here's a pic of my setting:

May I ask you what solution you're considering using for your imagery? I'm asking because I'm considering replacing my old astrocam with a newer one, but maybe a good reflex would be better nowadays...

BTW, if you read Ciel & Espace's issue from last april you'll see that an association in Vendée, not far from my town, built a Dobson telescope like yours for a budget of 400,000 euros. :) I just found a webpage describing their project in 2009 (completed in 2012) :

Now that's nice too. One thing- is it just a false impression from the picture or is a tornado trying to form in the distance?

No, not at all, that was a beautiful evening with not a single could in the sky. The thing is that it was nearly night yet, so I had to take the picture with the HDR function on on my iPhone (HDR= hyper dynamic range). This is what created those halos.

Look, I have no idea how much actual photography knowledge you have outside of digital. But back in the mid-80's to mid-nineties- I was big into photog. Even had a 12,000 dollar Nikon 2.8 400mm lens. But I sort of gave it up, and at that time the digital work for computers was just getting its real start. And the resolution from 35mm digital film was not even close to the resolution from 50 speed fujichrome. It did ok up against fuji color or kodak color film, but the resolution from the slow 35mm slide films in comparison made the digital look bad. I wonder if the digital has caught up with it in that respect yet.

How do I contact Robert Houdini? I need additional licenses for Houdini 3, 4, and 5. I also need to buy Houdini 6 Standard. I emailed him three times but he has not replied.

Thanks!

I see the trolls are out in force today. It must be weekend or school vacations or something. Please stop nonsense.

place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.
