For those who might want to use it in Standard chess. Chess960 is set to be true by default when using Stockfish. Selecting position #518 will get you the standard chess opening position and, for those who may not know, castling in 960 is is made by KxR ( own rook). Looks like a good start, currently only does analysis, no play engine mode, but it looks like it may on its way.Guenther wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 12:00 pm https://github.com/ml-research/ligroundJust found this when doing research for other things.A free, open-source and modern Chess Variant Analysis GUI for the 21st century
I haven't tested it nor compiled/downloaded and I don't even know if it 'just' for variants.
Yet I thought this might be interesting at least for some.

Re: LiGround (GUI)
If someone is interested, I compiled the current LiGround for WIN and might upload it to RWBC.
Version number is still the same. A few things have been fixed and a few things added, not much though.
https://github.com/ml-research/liground/commits/master (changes after March 17, the last release)
The screen shows how one SF 14.1 instance analyses a game for a fixed depth (=> eval graph), while the other instance
crunches a position from this game with MPV=5.
The pgn loaded is from Eds GRL with the Blunder games from a recent download.
It's really a good GUI for analysis. Tournaments and matches between engines are not supported.
Think of it as a complementary for the CuteChessGui, which has no analysis features.
One caveat:
I had to use NodeJS/Npm 13.14 (from 2020-04), because this was the last one working on WIN7,
but that shouldn't be an obstacle for running on newer WIN versions.
