Hi,
@modern times
Yes, our processor is really great. 10 Cores the i9 11th gen. have 8 cores.
And that processor is around 5 years old!!
The disadvantage is ... no AVX-512 support, comes with 11th gen.
After 11th gen p-cores and e-cores (12th gen and 13th, gen).
So I hope of 14th gen.
What's really great is from 11th gen is the i5-11600k. A lot of potential for overclocking ... 5.2Ghz with water-cooling for all cores no problem and I believe it can go higher. The price is good. i7 nobody need, means hyperthreading.
In my ultrabook is i7-1185g7, 4 cores with 2.8Ghz.
And with Dell bios different things are not possible.
So, for such processors you need the program:
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/te ... ottlestop/
And the processor can run with a cooling pad with 3.0Ghz with 68 degrees only.
OK, can also run with 3.2Ghz but over 72 degrees.
I like this 13.1 zoll Dell ultrabook a lot, but very expensive with the highend grafic which is inside.
A lot of people searching i9-10900 on sites like ebay.
They know that and the price is high.
Best
Frank
PS: I am thinking often on 3 or 4 mini-pcs with intel i5-11600k but to wait of 14th gen make sense because the power consumption can be better as from 11th gen.
Whcih CPU do you prefer?

Past Intel processors clocked significantly down with 512-bit AVX under load, Zen 4 implements AVX-512 via 256-bit vector-unit over two cycles, so speed gain only via registers and some new instructions. Both (Intel and AMD) might change in future.

After more than 20 years of playing with Intel, AMD and PCs, 10 years ago I threw it all to the devil. Now only Mac and it's amazing
