after 63. a4 is ...Qa8 not good, because 64. Nd3 is mat in 29

63...Qc6 or ...Kb7 lengthen the mat to 41! 64. Nd3 41#
hello Paloma:
im just not able to tell...simply because the EV by the engine was so tremendously high that i absolutely didnt care about a DTM further on...
the main question was: is the root-pos just a draw or not...and it is definately lost for black !!?

For humans if they can do a quick check with a helper engine on the side it's rather easy. Without engine, probably not so easy.
I feel not good how i argumented, i wanna say thx for the game that u played here and i was able to follow !
thank you for the comment above, u made,...i want to agree with you by 100%...
a really hard task for current (A/B)- engines of our days to win this pos !

plz appologize my inappropriate speaking, all the best
Peer
No hard feelings. The position is really fascinating and quite complex after this initial hurdle of ignoring Nxb6. But engines are there to help human understand even though they themselves obviously don't understand this position. One of the rare position where human intervention really shines.

Paloma wrote: Thu Jan 27, 2022 12:13 am I found out (SF11ofc) after 65...Qc8:

66.Qxa5 is one move better than 66.Nxc5+

e.g. 66..Kb8 67.Nc1 Qb7 68.Nb3 Kc8 69.Qd2 Qa7 70.a5 22#
Or even two moves better :)
After 65...Qc8 again:

2q5/1kp5/3p4/pPpPp1p1/P1P1PpPp/2QN1PbP/8/5K2 w - - 0 1

Analysis by Stockfish 11 64 POPCNT30:

66.Qxa5 Kb8 67.Nc1 Qb7 68.Qd2 Qb6 69.Nb3 Kc8 70.a5 Qb7 71.a6 Qb6 72.Na5 Kb8 73.Nc6+ Ka8 74.Qa5 Qxa5 75.Nxa5 Ka7 76.Nc6+ Kb6 77.Nd8 Bh2 78.Ne6 Bg3 79.Nxg5 Ka7 80.Ne6 Kb6 81.g5 c6 82.dxc6 Bf2 83.Kxf2 d5 84.c7 Ka5 85.a7 dxe4 86.c8Q Kb4 87.Qxc5+ Kb3 88.a8Q e3+ 89.Ke2 Kc2 90.Qa2+ Kc1 91.Qca3#
+- (#26) Depth: 89/52 00:01:23 5720MN

So Milos was right about 65...Bh2 yet maybe, as long as you don't find a detour in this one line also.
