Maybe in fairness to both you and Sam i should rephrase that: He said an agreement couldnt be reached. I assumed mods on both sides. Maybe it was just the CTF mods. Sorry for implying it wasyou.Zach Wegner wrote:The CCC mods were never asked this question.

Re: DURING GRAHAM BANKS BAN FROM CCC.....!!!
OK. I have posted only a couple times here. But I have visited this site for the past several years on a daily basis, usually a few times a day. I don't know Graham personally but he seems like a class act and a good person. He has done as much, or not MORE for this site & computer chess in general as anyone. I have love follwing his tournaments as well as a few others. Whoever banned him is an absolute idiot. You are doing nothing excpet hurt this great site.

Hi Zach,Zach Wegner wrote:George,
The moderators would appreciate it if this topic was not brought up in CCC or its subfora. I see this entirely as a CTF issue. Yes, Graham was banned in the CCC. This is an unfortunate side effect. The CCC mods had nothing to do with this decision though, in fact we are discussing the issue and trying to work out a solution so that he can post here.
Zach
How is the solution coming?

Hello Kirill,
Solution is going a bit slow on account of Volker being away on vacation. As I'm sure you know, Graham has been unbanned, so the only issue now is Chris Conkie. Most likely he will be given access back to at least the CCC, whether he is fully unbanned depends on what Volker and the CTF mods say.
Regards,
Zach

Re: DURING GRAHAM BANKS BAN FROM CCC.....!!!
I have a better proposal. If Graham's behavior within CCC does not cause any objections to having him post in CCC, but for some reason it must be made technologically impossible for him to post in CTF, we could simply close down CTF for the duration of his ban.
I don't think that matters in CTF should have any negative impact on optimal function of CCC. This forum exists for hosting CCC, and any thing that interferes with that in even the slightest way should be eliminated. There is no such thing as weighing the interest of CCC and CTF against each other. Even the continued existence of CTF carries zero weight compared to causing a slight annoyance to CCC members.

Graham can post now in both forums if he chooses to do so
this is has been the case for several days now
the reason he chooses not to are his own and not a result of a software related issue
the issue is now one remaining member who has been banned this mod term from the CTF and because of software limitations this has caused his posting inability on the CCC although no breach of the CCC charter has taken place this term
Zach has already mentioned that we are waiting for our third team member to return at which time a decision will be made as to whether or not to allow that member CCC activation assuming he agrees to not post in the CTF

Thanks Zach. No, I did not know he is unbanned at the time I asked the question, although I learned it soon after.Zach Wegner wrote:Hello Kirill,

Difficult to express an opinion without knowing what happened, but in the case of Graham I can say with conviction that there was some mistake.
