Yes- you heard right. This is not a joke. For a conflict that took place in CTF- he has also been banned from CCC. Indefinitely. Total lunacy. At any rate, he has aksed me to post that all his tournaments can be followed from the following link in CCRL Public while all this is hopefully straightened out and he has been issued a public apology from CCC. The following link can also take you to my tournaments and gauntlets, as i wont be posting results here for CCRL either until wiser heads prevail.

Best,
If the ban is not a joke, then I must say someone is trying to shut down the CCC. Graham has been one the main reasons why some people visit the CCC regularly. Why must CTF quarrels influence the CCC ?

It is no joke, Matthias. I have also quit posting results here as i said above in protest- as he is my best friend. I have told him many times in private when i thought he was wrong- even when he was a mod- and he listens to me. We actually listen to each other. Im not his "lackey" as some have said. It is truly sad this has happened in this way. I am not even sure CTF can ban him from CCC without CCC mods ok. If so -we have a terrible terrible mess. Or did they go along? They keep going back to software issues causing it- i say the hell with software- someone have the guts to stand up and do what is right. The man has given his life to computer chess for us.

A PS: (for you Matthias)- In your entire life- have you ever known a more chess workaholic who doesnt do it for his benefit- a more diplomatic person- a person who is more concerned of others feelings- and lastly more of a gentleman? If you have- please direct me to him.
Best To You Always
PS (2): Some people mistakenly think i like controversy. I hate it. But i will stand up for what i believe in- and do what i can to right wrongs. Because in the end, if you dont have the backbone to stand up for your beliefs- then, sadly- you will fall for anything. We can put a stop to this mess if you, I and many others come together. After all- the forum belongs to US.
Best As Always,

George,
The moderators would appreciate it if this topic was not brought up in CCC or its subfora. I see this entirely as a CTF issue. Yes, Graham was banned in the CCC. This is an unfortunate side effect. The CCC mods had nothing to do with this decision though, in fact we are discussing the issue and trying to work out a solution so that he can post here.

Re: DURING GRAHAM BANKS BAN FROM CCC.....!!!
Thank You Zack
That is the first and best answer I have heard so far. When CTF was crearted it never crossed the minds of the people who vote to create it that for any reason what so ever they could ban respected members on all of the boards. I am sure if that fact had been known CTF might never have been invented or at least it would not have a seperate bunch of moderators.
So far every member who has been here for many years has taken offence with this action and that should count for something. If you really want to see what people think then put up a poll and or ask if the majority want another election.
Respectfully

I dont understand, Zach. Most people on CCC never ever go to CTF. So if the mess this has turned out to be between the 2 forums cannot be discussed on CCC- it looks as if it is trying to be hidden from the membership so the mods will not have to deal with the utter outrage that follows. The CCC members should all be made aware of this lunacy.

Yes... less important off-topics of that kind could be discussed in the "Help and Suggestions" subforum, but that has probably only a few readers. It is good that this news was posted here. I don't know what happened in the CTF and I am not sure that I want to knowgeots wrote: The CCC members should all be made aware of this lunacy.
It is hardly imaginable to me that Graham could do something which justifies a ban. I hope this is only a temporary one, or maybe the decision can be undone.
I ran over a posting recently about the topic of private messages between CCC members, and that eventually someone else might be able to read them (or not), but it all seemed rather unclear to me and very technical, and I must admit I didn't read it carefully. I was thinking, let's wait until that has been clarified before I take the time, for a closer look what that is about.
I hope this matter can be resolved in a good way, and that Graham will hopefully join again.
Regards, Mike

Graham has a lot of merits in the CCC and if he is banned here and now, this forum will lose many important members.
If a CTF issue can justify a ban in CCC, I may withdraw from the CCC or retire from forum chess entirely.
Zach says a solution is being sought for and I hope CCC mods will jointly accomplish it fast.
Best,
Matthias.

Re: DURING GRAHAM BANKS BAN FROM CCC.....!!!
This is the problem:
Using the current software if you are banned from forum A, then automatically you are banned from forums B,C,D,E, etc.
It is an unintended consequence of the way that the software operates.
I believe that they are trying to create a work-around so this will not be a problem.
