I added all games to the ReplayZone. Will try to update as often as possible.

I am running a match between Stockfish 170315 and Komodo 1400.
I decided to use a high number of CPUs for this match. Lot of MP improvements by Stockfish makes this match hopefully intresting.

CONDITIONS:
Fritz GUI in engine match mode (openings will be repeated with alternate colors)
Harry Schnapp 7moves book , book option set to normal ( I hope for unbalanced outcome of book in a few games)
Timer 30 +15, ponder OFF, 100 games to play!
both engines 24 cpu (Intel E5-2697 v2 @ 3.0GHz), no HT
8192MB hashtables
full 3-4-5-6 Tablebase set for engines and gui

I will setup a ReplayZone soon and try to keep it updated often.
intresting 1-0 and 0-1 games I will post here.

Special thx to Larry Kaufmann and Mark Leffler for let me do this match in public!

kind regards, Clemens Keck

You can watch the games live. At 30 +15 timer, I am not sure if it makes sense. Just a try. During updates I have to shut it down.
Presenter software updates every 15 sec.

Hi Clemens!

Has the computer running this test 24 REAL cores?

When googling "Intel E5-2697" i get only machines with 12 cores / 24 threads.

Greetings and thanks for running this test,
Frank

Pretty sure he's using two E5-2697 processors.

Hello Frank

this match runs on a Supermicro Server machine.
It has 2 x E5-2697 v2 cpu on board.
No hyperthreading, as described in the conditions.

have a good day

fenchel wrote: Regarding the recent improvements, "Stockfish 6 SMP" is SF from just a few weeks ago (with Joona's main patches).
Stockfish 6 SMP = stockfish_15021621_x64_modern (Improve smp performance for high number of threads - Balance threads between split points)

This is a month old, and does not include several extremely important SMP patches, which have dramatically changed SMP performance on high-core systems (eg, switching to spinlocks, yielding instead of sleeping)

Again, thanks for the post. I'm sure some readers had not seen fastgm's data before.

I'm confused about the 3.0 Ghz. Isn't this chip clocked at 2.7GHz?

Thanks for this high-core match in any case!
