I got tripped up by that myself. But actually, I argue, it is not a bug. It is understandable to think you are not using a time control. But, when using a fixed time per (half)-move the consequence is that every move by definition is operating under its own time control. During the course of the game sometimes an engine will go a little over and not report back to the UI before the flag rises. This is particularly common in bullet matches. The offending engine has forfeited on time and the game terminates.

With cutechess-cli the practical solution is to always include a healthy timemargin to accompany st=TimePerMove.
Me dummy. This reveals that I've never played OTB tournaments. Clock flags don't rise. They fall.

In a way you were right. Old mechanical clocks, approaching the end of time control, started to lift their flag which only fell when time control was exceeded.

If this time control "bug" is forgotten version 1.2.0 is VERY STABLE. After 2 years of heavy use I noticed one (1) missing game! PGN was totally empty for just one game so I got only 999 games from 1000. Other 100 000 games were played flawlessly.

Yes I've played a large number of games totally reliably as well with 1.2.0

Does anyone know what the changes are in 1.3.0 ?

Hi. I'd like to report random freezing of my computer - like once a month. I'm doing some engine matches around 4 to 6 hours a day. Cheers.

Yes, 1.2.0 works perfectly for me.
