Re: ChessBase updated GUI
Is there still a way to download individual updates for CB and Fritz?
That way, one could revert to a known non-buggy version.

Re: ChessBase updated GUI
No it is not possible any more. The server offers only the latest update. You must preserve the latest updates yourself, when you got them

Re: ChessBase updated GUI
How would you preserve the latest update if there is no way to download it and save it as a file?
I suppose one could make a backup of the the current CB folder before running the update in order to revert to it if necessary.

Re: ChessBase updated GUI
Every ChessBase update is stored here:
C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\ChessBase\Updates
I copy the update and change the name, e.g. GUI18.iup to GUI18-10.iup if it is the update with version 10. The same goes with all CB updates. Of course, the update must be backed up before a new one comes.

Re: ChessBase updated GUI
OK, thanks for the info - but how would you restore an old version if you're not happy with the new one?

Re: ChessBase updated GUI
Start the old GUIiup.exe with a double click and follow the instructions. Is that difficult?

Re: ChessBase updated GUI
Nope, it's straightforward.
I've noticed that CB even creates backups of the previous installed version (CB17x64_Prev.exe), but I didn't see a previous one for Fritz18.
I also created my own backup folder, where I can now store specific versions that are stable and not visibly buggy.
