Gerold.
Why is white losing Gerold?
Very poor position on King side.
Q side has to be settled before any progress can be made
to control the middle of the board.
AT best now would be a draw and no win.
This is a very close game. one weak move
would be a win for BL.

To many pieces blocked and pawns advanced to far.
While BL has all pawns on King side in place with major pieces
ready to attack or block whites advances.

Gerold.
I really wish we had played dxc5. I honestly think that we would be winning by now. The fork was not an issue and all our pieces were pointing along the long diagonals at the king.
Now that the move has past perhaps we could analyse it?
I think a5 is nice now because we expose any weakness in BL's flank play. It is also quite progressive (to me anyway - moving forward as Steve says).
May I jump in for a short moment, even if I can't follow the game continuously?
I would play a5, too, but for a different reason. I think BL has created a huge weakness on e6 with its last move f6. Therefore I would consider Nf3-e1-d3-f4 but also (after Ne1) playing Bg4 with the idea of either Be6 or even exchanging white bishops to prepare later Nf4-e6. Since a5 prevents black from playing Nb6 to attack c4, moving Be2 away from its job to guard Pc4 becomes possible.
Just an idea.
I think white has equal chances at least. I see no big weaknesses on the white side but the black pawn structure appears dubious to me.
So a5.
Just a note: my OTB rating is about 1900 (national rating) so please apologize if I have missed some very basic refutation of my plan.
