But you are not.......and they did.......all 38 of them.

Figuring it out is unlikely to help. I told you it plays different. All of them do. As to knowing who did what, they will ignore you. That is what they want to do.

Would it make it easier for you to swallow if we called the author "Terminator Rasputin"?

There are 38 different 2750 rated engines? Terminator Rasputin can only be only guy. Tordka Romstadka??

I never said they were all 2750 in fact of the 10 released so far only one could be plausibly in that range.

Tordka?

I doubt itka.........

Why not asking the author himself? AT his homepage there is an e-mail. I think it would be quite easy for you to send your questions.
Regards,
Geno

PS:
by the way, at the homepage of the author there is downloadable files with the sources of his program, so you can easily look at them.
There are a few serious problems with the code. The most serious are:

This structure is uninitialized, and a later routine uses the contents for addressing and accesses out-of-bounds memory.

Also, there is a tiny buffer of 20 bytes called string_in_l[] that gets a big pile of data shoved down its throat. It is not safe to run until those two repairs have been made.

Also for information Tony............Mutha is an original engine

Chris,

First I will not be testing Ifrid while the engine site links to a forum that allows pirated software...

However I seriously doubt an open source engine is going to be a clone - this would have to be a first...

Please stick to the facts and stop 'spinning/twisting' everything.

I support what you are trying to do but I hate the way you are going about it.

There have been open source clones before (of course, they were caught right away).

I have fooled around with the source for the new program, and it is not a clone. It's not very strong either. It is actually insulting to watch it play as it destroys it's own pawn structure, thrusts the queen out early, etc.

At any rate, I think that we agree that claims of cheating should be based on evidence instead of suspicion.

Shaun
That is why I told him to go and look at the source. He asked what I thought of Ifrid. I have no thoughts on the matter. He can easily go and find out himself as the engine IS open source. Do keep up.......

As to the pirate software site, that's wrong but being a human (yes its true) I do have a choice. I can choose wether to click on it or not.

The pirate software site itself should be shut down.

The comments directed at CCRLka are because they previously stated that they do not test anonymous engines. Ifrid IS anonymous.

So one member states they dont test them......

http://schachwerkstatt.foren-city.de/to ... rybka.html

......and here....another one (Kirill Kryukov) says they do.

I hate the way the american computer chess community is not self aware. In the european computer chess community its very different. Most of the people there know when a dog is a dog. Issues of copyright are resolved in a fair and methodical way. Here its trial by forum and even those who should know better perform as if they have blinkers on.

In the US disassembly is ok it seems (i'd love to see it really tested although). In Europe its not and it does not matter how bloody strong the engine is.

While this impass exists you will always struggle here.

I personally cannot be bothered with what you think here whilst you insist on giving air to what is so obviously illegal. Me? I will however stop on the road to shoot in the head a rabid dog. If you want to be bitten by it of course that is not my problem. Hey....I'm alive....who cares about you?

If you want people to just hop in at 2800 elo with no work involved thats up to you. Marian Jones syndrome is a well tried and very precarious route to success throughout history.

In sane societies it fails for obvious reasons.

There is no spin here. If you allow things like Strelka any form of competition is dead. CCRLka should know better but to be blinded by elo is a force to be reckoned with.

I have no qualms about placing in the bucket any kind of rubbish like that at all.

Time you all woke up or even developed a pulse........
