Ifrid??

Post by Tony Thomas »

I saw link to an engine called Ifrid from WBEC, I downloaded it. Now, I have few questions, who is chess terminator. Is this a pirated copy of a commercial program? It doesnt show any UCI parameters and it uses less than 1MB of memory, so it is kind of hard to figure out the identity.

Thanks in advance

The right name of the engine is Ifrit, not Ifrid (means an arabian jinn). It's an engine in its early developing stage. In his homepage (http://andchess2006.narod.ru/) the author, Andrei, explains how the works go.
So, please, Ruxy, show some respect. Or it's too much for you?

Why not asking the author himself? AT his homepage there is an e-mail. I think it would be quite easy for you to send your questions.
Regards,
Geno

PS:
by the way, at the homepage of the author there is downloadable files with the sources of his program, so you can easily look at them.
take it easy :)

Acording to the author, the engine has been developed since December 2006....
Anyway,it's not nice to label all the russian programmers as pirates and thieves, they are also talanted and well educated like all the people in the rest of the world....
