Really? Or are you joking?

If it's true, it's news to me.

Steve
He is joking. Morsch was the developer until, and including, Fritz 13.
Actually, I own both Fritz v10 and v11. They are different like day and night.

Sure, Fritz 11 is visibly stronger, but the great style of Fritz 10, a landmark program that defeated WC Kramnik in 2006, was completely gone. Fritz 10 was/is one of the few programs capable of playing well in closed positions.

CL

I bought Deep Fritz 10 on DVD (got it yesterday)... and now I want to update the program for Deep "Fritz 10.1" is it possible?
You need to find and download Service Pack 3 for DF10. It was called setupdeepfritz10sp3.exe and it used to be downloadable from Chessbase. It contained the update to DF10 v.10.1.

In addition to the engine update wouldn't it be a good idea for Alain to also apply the last released Fritz 10 GUI update? The link no longer works but the update was once downloadable from here.

I just downloaded the 7z file you gave a link to for Alain Distel to download. The only thing I see in the 7z file is a file named - Deep Fritz 10.engine. Why not provide the authentic setupdeepfritz10sp3.exe file?

The setupdeepfritz10sp3.exe file is around 2.41MB in size.

1. it was the link I had -- I did not post the file for download
2. if I remember correctly, the correct update file had the same name but it was a different size
3. always scan such downloads with a good up-to-date antivirus program
4. this is what I get for trying to help : "Why not provide the authentic setupdeepfritz10sp3.exe file?"

No intent on my part in hurting the feelings of another I assure you. As for my worded reply I did take into account, before posting the reply, that maybe it was not something that you had uploaded yourself.

Anyway, if someone needs the setupdeepfritz10sp3.exe file, and/or the last released Fritz 10 GUI update file, let me know and I will upload them. I will be here for maybe another week, possibly two.

Or simply call it Panda  As far as I know, there is no other engine named after the black-and-white (!) bear.
