New Fritz author?
When I fire Deep Fritz 14 up, it lists Gyula Horvath as the engine author. When did he take it over from Franz Morsch?

I only have a quad core, so I don't know if it uses eight.

I wonder if the new Deep Fritz engine is a renamed Pandix then? That would be pretty cool, actually.

The source code of Fritzy is the property of ChessBase GmbH Hamburg ! An UCI version is simple impossible this millenium !
And for sure the new DFritz 14 is based on Pandix. Nothing to do with DFritz 13 (and the old historical code of Mr. Frans Morsch) excepting the ChessBase compiler !
I'd like four native chess engines like UCI:
1.-Fritzy
2.-ChessGenius
3.-YChess
4.-Pirat
But who cares ?
Regards,
SilvianR

PS:all the best to Maverick ! Just now it plays on Pirat GUI in a very select company ! The next month the result will be posted in CCC !

Re: New Fritz author?
My opinion is that the law should forbid this type of behaviour.
In other words the law should force changing the name of the program to some different name unless the new program is a derivative of the old program.
If Fritz14 is not a derivative of Fritz13 then there is no reason to keep the name Fritz and it is clearly trying to mislead the customers because my initial thought when I read Fritz14 is that it is a derivative of Fritz13.
