Perhaps you could ask them why they think it is an improvement?Werewolf wrote: ↑Sun Nov 27, 2022 8:24 pmYes.
Now both "Cloud Analysis" and "Deep Analysis" erase lines. Furthermore, the manual makes it clear that Team Chessbase think this is an improvement over the Deep Analysis found in Fritz (which doesn't auto-erase).
It is deeply disturbing they cannot see this is a step backwards.

I concur 100%Uri wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 7:30 pm Chessbase 17 is a big disappointment...again.
I expected there to be more games being put into the Mega Database 2023. They say on their website that the Mega Database 2023 contains 9.75 million games but this is really not a lot of games considering that more than half of the Mega Database 2023 contains empty games.
Also most of the new features in Chessbase 17 have nothing at all to do with playing strength so for someone who wants to get a higher playing strength most of the features in Chessbase are a bit of a disappointment.
Again, I expected more from Chessbase.

I do not concur...
1. Mega is not Chessbase 17...so that argument is against Mega, not CB 17.
2. What is your playing strength? You DO know that playing strength correlates nicely with the effort you put into getting better at all phases of the game...(?). What would you like to have seen 'added'/'changed' to help improve your strength?
Chessbase 17's main advantage to me (someone who has been over 2000 USCF for over 35 years)is in the added analysis tools - I am daily using the program for analysis. The new file format is clearly an improvement and frankly I like quickly finding a position I might be looking at in a book by use of the new search abilities. Oh...and dark mode is so much easier on the eyes!

As is consistent with your usual mental mishaps, you're replying to the wrong person. I'm not the one who posted the comment about Mega Database 2023. My reply was agreeing with the contention that Chessbase 17 is a poor product. I'm sorry you weren't capable of figuring that out on your own. Perhaps some remedial language training is in order for you.
As for my playing strength, I'm rated over 2400+ on both lichess as well as chess dot kom. I'm supremely confident that is vastly stronger than you are! The infantile way you express yourself and the primitive and presumptuous way your mind works suggests someone who is still struggling with the beginner basics of chess.

OTB rating please...lichess and chess.com - those ratings are 'just numbers'...every site has them and some are VERY liberal so as to make people feel good and play there. Can't blame the business decision, but it's not much of a reflection as to one's OTB play.
No, I was not "replying to the wrong person". You are the one who responded to Uri's criticisms
with "I concur".. I replied that, in contrast, I did not concur.
I guess you get off on it...but, now, stop trolling me please.

I'm not the troll. You are. You're the one who clicked on my account name and started following me around and replying to all of my posts just to harass me. My replies are topical.
And yes, you WERE INDEED replying to the wrong person. You built up a straw-man argument based on something I didn't even say. Once again, simpleton, I did NOT make any comment whatsoever about MegaDatabase 2023 which is what you were attacking me on. Are you still confused and incapable of grasping the simple concept here? If so, get an adult with a FULL SET OF CHROMOSOMES to try to explain it to you.
And no, those ratings are NOT just numbers. Only weak low rated players like you talk that way. Ratings are based on RESULTS and have a strong correlation to playing strength. I play and defeat FIDE TITLED players each and every day. That is something a weak beginner like you (yes, even after more than 35 years, you're still at the level of a weak beginner) can only have wet dreams about.
