Strange message on playchess...

Maybe you are using an administrator protected account which limits features .

When I was in college,students use administrator protected account which restricts some site,playchess software,also the old winboard forum was restricted,I had to use the anonymous site to view the winboard forum.

Reminds me of a strange incident that happend a month or two ago: I wanted to go to a website I have never gone before (found it with Google), and it said to me i couldn't go because I did not have a valid IP-address. Now, that never happened to me before (or afterwards - except when I tried that same website again a few days later). I don't use any anonymizer stuff, too. Never found out what that was, but somehow it sounds similar to your experience.

A lot of sites ban by IP address which is bad, because most people have dynamic IP addresses. Maybe you are just using an IP address that was previously banned on the server. Try recycling your modem and then connecting, and see if you still get that message.

I also have an account that for some reason simply doesn't allow me to watch or play any games anymore. It says something about not having rights to this or that,I am not sure why. I emailed the sysop at CB and still waiting reply.
