Chessgame for phone HTC S710

I have just bought a new phone (not yet charged up!): http://www.europe.htc.com/products/htcs710.html

It has Microsoft® Windows Mobile® 6.0 software which I assume means I can put chess applications on it in the same way as I would an ipAQ?

WHat is a good chess program for such a phone? Pocket Fritz 2?

I'm more intereted in functionality than playing strength

I'm afraid, it is not that easy! I don't think, that PF 2 is available for Smartphones.

You can't use the PPC-version, as PPC's have a touchscreen, which your Smartphone has not.

So you need a program especially for Smartphones like ChessGenius or PocketGrandmaster. But they are crippled compared to the PPC versions. So it's not possible to save games with PGM and if i remember correctly ChessGenius can manage just one database which has to be named "database.pgn" (but i'm not sure about recent versions)

ChessGenius seems to meet everything I need (to be able to play against the phone and have different levels)

It is "funny" : you are the second person I see in the last two days having this problem with the HTC S710.
May be HTC don't mention that it is only a Smartphone ?

Don't worry, other chess programs will come soon for Smartphones too.
