Wael, look at the results, Baron was able to draw Rybka.

only by cutting it's connection to the internet so rybka had to use slower hardware and could not use tablebases in the endgame.Tony Thomas wrote:Wael, look at the results, Baron was able to draw Rybka.
Rybka blundered by 69...a3 when 69...Kg2 is better.

If the same had happened to Baron, you would have said something else.Uri Blass wrote:only by cutting it's connection to the internet so rybka had to use slower hardware and could not use tablebases in the endgame.Tony Thomas wrote:Wael, look at the results, Baron was able to draw Rybka.

This is not that I am against the baron but simply that it is important to mention the bad luck of rybka that helped the baron.
Here is some analysis by rybka2.3.1 without tablebases.

Re: ICT Leiden: Third round 2 games on Playchess
Yes, Vas confirmed that the draw with Baron was due to lack of Tablebases. It was apparently giving problems with the GUI ... but that now TB would be "hardwired in".
Re: ICT Leiden: Third round 2 games on Playchess
Stuff like this happens in short tournaments and single games, so that's why they play 'em even though one of the engines is clearly the strongest!
