Some crazy numbers, I copied from playchess server :
Zappa Zanzibar X64: 28.7 ply; 24,375kN/s Quad-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 8270 2612MHz, (32 threads)
This one will kill Rybka in any config !
Zappa on a 32 threads AMD (Barcelona core)

It's Zappa + hardware. Rybka scale badly above 4 cores.eriq wrote:Is it zappa doing the killing or is it the hardware?!

Wowz
Vincent can you please tell us the player Username in playchess?
Erdo Maybe?
Zappa scales great(If it's middlegame).

What if Rybka runs on the same machine?Vinvin wrote:Some crazy numbers, I copied from playchess server :

Looking at the CCRL data, it does not appear that Zappa scales better than Rybka:Dann Corbit wrote:What if Rybka runs on the same machine?Vinvin wrote:Some crazy numbers, I copied from playchess server :

Re: Zappa on a 32 threads AMD (Barcelona core)
To me it does. The 1-4 cpu difference in ELO for Rybka is 106, while in Zappa it is 139. The 2-4 cpu difference for Zappa can be explained by the fact that only 78 games were played.Dann Corbit wrote:Looking at the CCRL data, it does not appear that Zappa scales better than Rybka:

Me too... 24 million nodes per second! And 28.7 ply, is that a depths average from the middlegame?Shaun wrote:I would love to see some games!!!
It would really be interesting if some games, hopefully with eval/depth infos per move, could be retrieved and posted here. I wonder if it ever loses.
(Unfortunately I cannot access the engine room, because my serial numbers expired.)
