Chess Cheating and Statistical evidence

Post by nuff »

Some guy (Dr Regan) in the article goes on with some mumbo jumbo about chess cheaters and statistical evidence not standing in court. I thought that if you play like Fritz 8, you are Fritz 8.

ICC claim that they run anti-cheating software but as some guy was able to fool Short that appears to be baloney. PlayChess appears to be taking things more seriously as you can see in red the guys caught cheating.

Its funny now humans are being accused of cheating whilst a decade ago Kasparov accused the computer of cheating!? Do I hear the terminator music? :)

I already told you over a month ago why that's not a valid example. They don't check games played by anonymous members (or in Short's case, guests (=unregistered). Nowadays guests can't play there anymore).

I think ICC and PlayChess pay ducats/shekels to GMs to play on their servers so it is in their best interest to check all games. That means that the claim that ICC have full-time staff to act as cheat police is bs. When kibitzing GM games they do not always follow the computers suggestion and make moves that the computers do not comprehend. Good example Bareev-Polgar in the candidates match.
