Most of my machines find...Rxf6 rather quickly;
however, i see that Fidelity computers (Mach3, Par Excellence..etc) have problems with this one...
RISC takes only 4 ply.....and 2 sec.
Cougar..............6 ply..............15 sec.
Novag Amber..........6 ply............55 sec.
regards
Rob
I predict...that Mach 4 also has "problems" with this one....

Of course, it's the same program as the Mach 3, only 2.4x faster.rightrook wrote:[D]3r2k1/1q2rpp1/ppR2n1p/3p1Q2/P2P1N2/4P1PP/5P2/2R3K1 w - - 0 1

Hi Terry....Mach 3...? Well, i gave up on it after about 4 minutes..
Also, Turbo 432 does not find it after about 8 minutes...but it does find it after about 45 or 50 minutes!

HI Rob
the Mephisto Montreal 68000 (same program as the Roma) finds Rxf6 in 27 seconds and a 2 Ply Brute Search (but 11 ply selective search)
And as you predicted ..the Excel Mach IV did struggle with the position but it does find Rxf6 after 2min. 29sec. and 6 Ply .
